My great-grandfather was a portrait artist, photographer and inventor. Since painting from real life (as opposed to photographs) yields more realistic painting, he would paint from 3D photographs taken with a stereo camera and viewer he made himself. This video is made from these family relics and is a rumination on my great-grandfather's own seeing (circa 1940s).
One of several studies considering a somatic view of technology and the nervous system.
A playful narrative loosely inspired by Federico Fellini's famous film La Dolce Vita (1960). Original footage gathered by the artist on the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy.
Music credited to the film's original motion picture soundtrack composed by Nino Rota. Short segments from the original film also appear in the opening credits. This video is for entertainment purposes only (no profits made with the creation of this video).
